NEXT SCHEDULED MEETING IS January 8, 2010 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Rose Room Ford County Government Center, Dodge City, KS.

Coronado Crossing RC&D Area, Inc. realizes the need to:

·                      establish communications within the area to inform the public on the purposes of the RC&D program;

·                      assist in maintaining sufficient water quantity and quality;

·                      assist in management of solid waste programs;

·                      coordinate efforts across our region in wind and water erosion control;

·                      assist with efforts in the conservation of wildlife and development of wildlife habitats;

·                      encourage agricultural and related resource base incomes and markets toward value-added opportunities;

·                      participate in providing better health care and accessibility for southwest Kansas communities;

·                      evaluate community housing needs and services;

·                      utilize existing historic resources and build upon recreation and programs for tourism and community development;

Coronado Crossing RC&D Area, Inc. recognizes the United States Department of Agriculture - Resource Conservation and Development Program as a vehicle to better access resources to meet the needs of communities and our RC&D goals.  Resources include various federal agencies, state agencies, local agencies, and private and corporate sectors that are instrumental to partnership development.  The program would provide necessary leveraging for funds and resources in our communities, resulting in more productive usage of local funds and taxes for area development; as well as, more cooperation and coordination across county lines.
